Currently residing in Central Iowa

"As I travel around the in the late 1800's I enjoy life to it's fullest and desire the company of respectable women. But, I have learned not to be picky. Sometimes what is presented to you may be the best you will find, at least at that time and place! I enjoy "the game" in all aspects. Like a gold miner working his claim, with a turn of a card I want to see what riches I can pan from your pocket."
Shooting Class: NCOWS Working Cowboy

NCOWS #2330

Mississippi and Missouri Rivers 1880's-1890's

"I run a floating den of inequity with my brother Frog (KGC #10). I would rank as one of those ne'er do wells that your mother warned you about as a babe. I have tried my hand at farming, shop keeping, preaching, banking & prospecting, all to no avail. Nothing worthwhile seems to stick, & I always find myself in the comfort of the green felt... breathing the smoke, drinking the liquor... I am proud to say that even at my lowest moments I have not resorted to crime, I can still hold my head up about that. Judge me not lest ye be judged... Ahh, 'tis a sad story & it belongs to no one but me."
Shooting Class: NCOWS Working Cowboy

Membership

We are currently accepting charter memberships. This includes a free lifetime membership with no dues, ever.

If your character is that of a professional gambler (what was commonly referred to as a "black leg") or a gambling business is (or was) the primary income of your chosen old west or Civil War character or persona, we want you as a member! Please keep in mind, we are not looking for casual or even serious players, we are the shifty saloon and riverboat dealers and operators that run the gambling games, banks and concessions. By and large, we are not cowboys and cowgirls, but are townspeople; generally drifters and carpetbaggers or other itinerant folks.

Our Membership is open to men and women, most particularly those participating in Cowboy Action Shooting, Old West re-enacting, Civil War Reenacting and other living history pursuits! No dues, no mandatory meetings, no secret handshake.. well, maybe a secret handshake!

All we ask is that you provide the following (see member examples above):
1. A photo (approx. 200 x 300 pixels in .jpg format) of you "in character"*.
2. Your basic persona information, including; your character name or alias, your persona's chosen career (saloon or riverboat gambler, faro dealer, lawman/gambler, cardsharp, gambler/magician, gambler/salesman, etc..), any associated memberships and membership numbers (if applicable), any RO certifications, the time period (1849 through 1899) or war(s) and unit(s) or region(s) you are re-enacting, performing or celebrating.
3. Your actual location, region or hometown.
4. Your home club(s) or re-enactment group(s) (with website URL, if applicable).
5. (Optional) Any particular information or other comments you feel are appropriate. Personal motto, Championship awards, or other special achievements. You are also welcome to provide a website link (such as a link to a personal website and/or your free CASCITY profile or another profile) elsewhere on the 'net.

Once we receive your necessary information and an appropriate photo, it will be posted here with your personal Knights of the Green Cloth (KGC) number. Please display it proudly in your correspondence. We hope to have some sort of identifying item (not a badge) in the near future. Maybe a stick pin, lapel pin or button cover. If you have any ideas, please be sure to pass them on.

Please note: We reserve the right to edit or abridge the information provided. Please let us know if you object to an edit to your profile or if you wish to have any changes made down the line.

* Larger pictures are better than smaller as we can crop and reduce images to fit neatly. We prefer to post pictures of our members in their period gambling costuming, dealing or playing their game of choice. If you don't have an appropriate gambling photo, any properly period costumed photo will do until you can update later. Thanks!

Your Pard,
